Ethereum Name Service Registrations Increase 200% Amid Lower Gas Fees

Ethereum domains saw an increase in demand, with Ethereum Name Service (ENS) registration totaling 126,141 registrations in a single week.

The ENS Dashboard, a data-tracking tool created by developer Nick Johnson, shows that registrations rose from 11,042 to 29,727, increasing by more than 200% over the weekend. This happened in the middle of the second largest .eth domain sale when "000.eth" was bought for 300 Ether (ETH) on Sunday, which was worth around $320,000 at the time of the sale.

Thanks to the purchase, ENS' daily revenue jumped to $684,174 when the sale closed. Following that, registrations for .eth domains peaked at 34,357 on Monday as hype around the sale peaked. This propelled ENS to the top of the seven-day non-fungible token collection (NFT) sales chart at news tracker Dapp Radar.

Activity on social networks around the ENS has also reached new heights. According to crypto social tracking platform Lunar Crush, engagements with the keyword increased by 108.4% in seven days.
