Eurovision 2023: Sam Ryder and Kalush Orchestra in the final

Reigning Eurovision champions Kalush Orchestra and runner-up Sam Ryder will perform at the grand finale of the song contest in May, it has been announced.

The Ukrainian band will open the final in Liverpool, while Ryder will play the first interval, announced the BBC.

Ryder said he "can't wait to be back among the beautiful chaos of it all".

The show will also see Sonia from Liverpool, who finished second in 1993, joining Netta from Israel and Daoi Freyr from Iceland in a celebration of the city's music.

The singer of Spaceman has "the honor of being invited to return to the Eurovision stage for the second time".

Ryder added that he was also looking forward to seeing "the amazing artists perform this time around, while bringing you a special performance all our own."
