Former PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Akwa Ibom dies
A former gubernatorial candidate and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Bassey Inuaeyen, has died.
Mr. Inuaeyen, who hails from Ini local government of the state region, was, until his demise, the political head of the region.

His demise was announced by the Supreme Ruler of Ini Local Government Area, Udoette Edon. The late politician was a member of the Council of Chiefs of the Nkari Clan and held the chieftaincy title of "Obong Iberedem".

Speaking at the Nkari clan meeting, Uyo University Vice-Chancellor Nyaudo Ndaeyo described the late politician as a philanthropist who sponsored natives of the region to various educational institutions. higher education in and out of state through its scholarship program.
