EXCLUSIVE: Versace Postpones L.A. Fashion Show

Versace shows a day ahead of schedule in Los Angeles, Calif. — the premier destination to unveil its fall-winter 2023 men's and women's collection.

Originally scheduled for Friday, the fashion show will now take place on Thursday, March 9 at 5 p.m. The Italian house changed its plans due to the weather. Although skies have been sunny so far this week in L.A., the city is expecting rain on Friday.

"Due to inclement weather, the Versace Los Angeles fashion show will now take place at the same location on daytime before,” noted the brand, which is keeping the location confidential.

Donatella Versace last walked the runway in Milan in September, unveiling a "dark gothic goddess" muse for spring. Showing off a line of black, Paris Hilton closed the sparkling runway in a metallic pink jersey mini dress and veil.

In the September review, WWD wrote: "Gigi Hadid, in a long jersey dress with hood and towering platforms, opened the show, leading a group of female witches around a named dark purple ensemble with hundreds of large black candles.(Anna Sui would warmly approve of the setting.)

"Dark Gothic Goddess" is how the press notes sum up the look, with Versace stating that she "always adored a rebel - a confident, intelligent, bit of a diva woman." Cue Paris Hilton, who closed the display wearing a metallic pink jersey mini dress and veil, crossing the vast room with her chin high and one hand on her hip. Her pointy pumps had a blade-like 5-inch heel, but she might as well have worn sneakers.

There was more black than usual in this Versace collection and it looked great. Count on Donatella to serve up the fiercest, skinniest, stiletto pants - here with a rustling leather fringe curtain down the backside. Chunky biker jackets shimmering with gold studs mixed with slash-front tops, microleather miniskirts and lace babydoll dresses accessorized with tiaras.”
