The People's Democratic Party's gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State, Muhammad Barde, has urged Muslims in the state to show absolute trust in Allah and emulate resilience and steadfastness illustrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

Bard, who is on a holy pilgrimage to Mecca, said that the festival of Eid-ul-Kabir, which is symbolized by the slaughter of rams as ordained by Allah, should be used to further promote the unity and spread love in the state, and Nigeria.

He added that despite the challenges of the state, Eid-al-Kabir should be an opportunity to beg and seek the face of God for restoration.

The PDP governorship, which hopes for the next general election, noted that the festival is important in the tenets of the Islamic faith, but urged celebrants to celebrate modestly across the state.

He assured that plans were in place to change their living conditions with improved welfare under his administration with the help of Allah Almighty.

"Eid-el-Kabir is an important event in the principles of the Islamic faith, so I urge all my brothers and sisters in Gombe State to continue to place their absolute trust in Allah and share everything they have with one another in imitation of the Prophet Ibrahim.

“May we use this time to seek the face of Allah by overcoming the current socio-economic situation in the state as we look forward to a brand new administration in 2023,” Barde said.
