AlphaTauri team principal Franz Tost has claimed that Sergio Perez could be fired at Red Bull.
The 67-year-old believes young Japanese star Yuki Tsunoda will be ready to move on after two more seasons in the junior team.
That would see the 22-year-old link up with Verstappen who has a contract until 2028.
Tost explained: "As far as I know, Sergio Perez still has a contract for next year. All I can say is that Yuki is on the right track.
"He has improved in every way. But I think he should be racing at AlphaTauri again in 2024. In 2025, I think he will finally be ready for Red Bull."
