Facebook extends its professional fashion profile to all designers around the world

Meta has announced the global expansion of its Professional Mode profile setting on Facebook to all creators. Professional Mode is designed for use by creators looking to monetize their followers on the social network. Facebook began testing Professional Mode with selected creators in December 2021 and is now offering it to everyone on its platform.

Professional Mode is somewhat similar to Pages in that it gives creators a separate profile to boost their social network presence. In a blog post, Facebook said it sees Professional Mode as a way to "build an audience, earn money through various monetization programs, and connect with your audience in a more meaningful way."

The profile setting gives creators access to monetization features and analytics tools, such as Facebook's Reels Play bonus program that lets you earn money for reels you share. Professional mode also grants eligible creators access to stars, allowing you to earn money directly from subscribers on reels, live and video on demand.

In-Stream Ads will also launch for eligible creators in Professional Mode, giving them the opportunity to earn money by activating ads before, during, or after longer On-Demand videos on Facebook. The company is also testing ads on Facebook Reels in professional mode with a select group of creators around the world. The company says the ad format fits into reels by placing ads on reels or between looping reels.

Professional mode creators also have access to Subscriptions, which gives them the ability to share subscriber-only content on the social network. Subscriptions are not yet fully deployed and are still in the testing phase.

"Professional Mode lets you build a global audience of followers, while staying connected to friends and family from your personal Facebook profile," the company said in the blog post. "When you post public content, you'll have access to features designed to help you get and engage new followers that were previously only available on Pages."

The expansion comes at a time when Meta is investing in its creator user base, as it sees the potential for a new revenue stream from things like creator subscriptions. As Meta continues to build the metaverse, it will need creator support, so it's no surprise that it is looking to expand its offerings for creators.
