Saheed Aderinto, a Nigerian professor at Florida International University who recently won the 2023 Dan David Prize, reportedly told Nigeria's President-elect Bola Tinubu to return his alleged stolen mandate.

A "Saheed Aderinto" Twitter account on Monday, March 13 sparked reactions after reacting to Tinubu's congratulatory message on the blue app.

The award-winning Nigerian history teacher reportedly told Tinubu, while reacting to his congratulatory message for his recent achievement, to return his "stolen tenure".

“Thanks for the acknowledgment anyway, hope you restore our stolen warrant,” the tweet read.

VERIFICATION

In an effort to verify the viability of the tweet, TRIBUNE ONLINE is checking Professor Aderinto's social media profile.

Our results showed that the US-based Nigerian professor is currently not on Twitter. The alleged tweet was from a (fake) parody account created in October 2019.

Further verification reveals that Professor Aderinto also debunked the alleged tweet, as said parody account was created without his consent.

"I don't have a Twitter account. I see a parody account has been created in my name. I did not make these statements on Twitter," he wrote.
