FG Opens New NYSC Orientation Camp in Bayelsa

The Federal Government (FG) has opened a new permanent National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Boro Town, Kaiama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

The Minister of Youth Development and Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare, during the inauguration, commended Governor Duoye Diri for providing an enabling environment through several gestures for the Secretary of State of NYSC Bayelsa , which improved the smooth operation of the program.

Dare said the completion of the new orientation camp is another clear testament to the governor's passion for the advancement of young Nigerians, who are being trained and mentored for citizenship and leadership roles on the platform. form of NYSC.

The Minister, who spoke through NYSC Chief Executive Officer Brigadier General YD Ahmed, said the Governor's administration has produced many people-focused policies and programs that have resulted in to dividends of democracy.

"I assure you that we will continue to reciprocate through the deployment of Corps members who would contribute to the development of their host communities and the state at large," Dare said.

Speaking further, he called on other state governors to upgrade their respective orientation camp facilities to accommodate at least five thousand corps members.

Duoye Diri, in his remarks, ordered that two additional new hostels be built at the orientation camp, one for men and another for female Corps members.

He said it would provide friendly accommodation for successive groups of Corps members who would be deployed to the state.

The Governor also ordered that each corps member be given ten thousand naira as transport allowance from the camp to their respective main duty stations

"We will continue to partner with federal agencies for the overall development of our state and country," the Governor said.
