FLASHBACK: Why Tinubu can't win the 2023 presidential race – Fani-Kayode

Former aviation minister and human rights lawyer Femi Fani-Kayode said on June 25, 2020 that All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was unfit to win the 2023 elections.

FFK in a letter titled “An Open Letter to Jagaban” said the former Governor of Lagos will not succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 because he has been “used”.

Fani-Kayode, who is currently a leader of the ruling party, warned Tinubu in the open letter against imposing himself on Nigerians, emphasizing that the presidency can only be given by God.

He said, “You dreamed of being vice president in 2015 and you failed. You dreamed of being president in 2023 and you will fail. is that God alone governs the affairs of men".

Giving the reason why the Asiwaju of Lagos would not be President of Nigeria in 2023, Fani-Kayode said that Tinubu "has refused to acknowledge or accept the fact that the Presidency of Nigeria can only be given by God and give it to whom He deems suitable by prophecy and divine decree”.

However, DAILY POST reports that Fani-Kayode, who was a staunch critic of the APC and the government of President Buhari, on September 16, 2021, dropped the People's Democratic Party, PDP and joined the APC.< /p>

Ahead of the APC presidential election, which ended on June 8, 2022, Fani-Kayode projected Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State as the top candidate to win the 2023 election.

The APC leader, who had accused the ruling party of plotting to Islamize the country ahead of the primary election that produced Tinubu as the APC candidate, said in an interview on August 18, 2022 that he was only against the APC because he was in the opposition PDP.

Following Tinubu's emergence as the party's candidate, Fani-Kayode defended Kashim Shettima's choice as the APC's vice-presidential candidate amid an outcry over the presentation of a ticket muslim-muslim.

According to him, the former governor of Borno State had built more churches in the state than any other governor before him.

Current Fani-Kayode articles target PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and Labor Party presidential flag bearer Mr. Peter Obi revealing why they cannot win the election.
