Flood: Tinubu and Shettima wives donate N20m to victims

A delegation from the All Progressives Congress women's campaign team led by the wives of the party's presidential and vice-presidential candidates, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Hajiya Nana Shettima, respectively, donates 20 million naira to 400 flood victims in Yobe State.

But in Yobe, the central Lagos senator gave a 20 million naira presentation, saying the 400 victims should be supported with 50,000 naira each to enable them to recapitalize their small businesses, which had been ravaged by the flood.

She also presented the food and household items sent by the President's wife, Mrs. Aisha Buhari.

According to the statement, the women, who flew in from Abuja, landed at Maiduguri International Airport before moving on by road for a 135 km journey to Damaturu .

While addressing the victims of the flood disaster, Tinubu said, "We felt it necessary to visit Yobe State to sympathize with the people over the disaster. that destroyed their livelihoods. We sympathized with the victims and prayed for God to prevent a recurrence."

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, who warmly received the delegation, appreciated them for the visit and the donations, adding that cash and food donations would go a long way in coming helping victims.

The delegation also visited the palace of the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi Ibn El-Kanemi II, where they expressed their compassion to the monarch for the death of his son, Abba Sadiq Shehu Hashimi.
