Gisele Bündchen tweets support for Tom Brady in NFL opener amid rumors of marriage issues
Gisele Bündchen wasn't in attendance for the first NFL game after Tom Brady's retirement on Sept. 11, but she made sure to show her support on Twitter. "Let's go @TomBrady! Let's go Bucs! ✨✨✨," she tweeted. The 45-year-old Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback returned to the field for the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
A source told People last Thursday that Bündchen was not expected to attend the game. "This year is very different from last year. She was thrilled to be here, we saw her," the source said. "I'm not saying she can't come, but nothing is in place for her to be here for the first game of the regular season and that seems weird."
In August, Brady took an 11-day absence from soccer practice, citing "personal reasons." Since then, there have been rumors and reports of marriage issues between Bündchen and Brady. "Everyone here knows that there are tensions, but we don't know how serious it is. So we just don't talk to him about Gisèle. It's not a subject that anyone wants. approach him," the source told People.< /p>
A separate insider previously told the publication that Bündchen would have been "not thrilled" for Brady to come out of retirement. "There's a lot of tension. She was so happy when he announced his retirement, and she wasn't thrilled at all when he walked back on it," the insider shared.
"They're going through a tough time," the insider also told People. "But I know they're trying, or at least he's trying, to figure it out and make it work. He wants to get over it and for things to get better."
Brady and Bündchen married in 2009 and have three children: Benjamin, Vivian and Jack, whom Brady shares with his ex Bridget Moynahan.
