Glastonbury has announced it will have its first ever dedicated South Asian zone at this summer's festival.

Named arrivals, the space will welcome artists including DJ Ritu, Anish Kumar, Manara and Nabihah Iqbal.

It has been designed by South Asian cultural organizations and will form part of the Shangri-La area of the festival site in Somerset from June 26-30.

The announcement follows growing calls for greater representation of British Asian music and artists.

"This is a pivotal moment for music culture festivals in the UK," says DJ and presenter Bobby Friction. Bobby also runs Going South, an organization that helped bring the space to life alongside Dialed In and Daytimers.

"South Asian and British Asian music has had its own music. "But plenty of space at Glastonbury dedicated to South Asian music, beats and DJs throughout the festival?
