Dating back to 1759, this beautiful Georgian coaching inn once overlooked the quay by the river, when this affluent West Sussex market town was a bustling port. Barges and tall ships loaded and unloaded on quays that have long since been redeveloped.

The Swan may have lost its stables and yard, but otherwise he looks much as he would have then. The white painted pub overlooks the high street with views of the crenellated walls of Arundel Castle towering over the town.
