Sony Santa Monica has announced that its flagship November game, God of War Ragnarok, hit another milestone in sales: over 11 million copies sold in the first three months after launch. This more than doubles its sales in the first week after its launch on November 9, 2022.

Ragnarok was GamesBeat's bronze medalist in our Games of 2022 list, also scoring a 4.5/5 in our review. Sony announced last year, a few weeks after the launch of Ragnarok, that it was the best-selling first-party launch in PlayStation history, reaching 5.1 million copies sold in the first week. of its launch.

Ragnarok's predecessor, God of War (2018), sold 3.1 million copies in its first three days. The latter has sold 23 million copies at last report. The franchise traded the best-selling title with The Last of Us and Spider-Man in the years that followed.

As Sony recently announced wider availability of the PlayStation 5, sales of one of its flagship titles are only set to increase even further. The publisher also has a habit of releasing its PC games at a later date for a secondary sales boost (which it did for God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Marvel's Spider-Man). It is likely that God of War Ragnarok will follow this example.
