Lagos State Government has partnered with Temple Company to train 200 young people across the state in creative skills.

State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf revealed this, according to a statement released on Monday, during the orientation of the 200 successful candidates for the University of Lagos.

Akinbile-Yusuf, who was represented at the event by the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Board of Film and Video Censors, Ms. Adebukola Agbaminoja, said attendees would be trained in cinema, creative writing, animation, audio engineering and music production, among others.

She said, "The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos Creative Industry Initiative, has developed a platform through which the creative talents of different local governments in the state can participate in free training which is facilitated by different film scholars in the state.

“Currently, we are partnering with Temple Company, through the Gidi Creative Center, to train 200 grantees in various capacities. Our previous beneficiaries are doing well and this is what drives us to embark on other training courses. programs.”

Temple Company's Group Managing Director, Idris Olorunnimbe, said: "Over 1,000 applications were received after a call six weeks ago when the project was unveiled and post-project mentoring. training has been considered with plans underway to secure placements with partner organizations such as Lagos State Employment Trust Fund and Mavin Records, among others.
