These remarkable photographs are all winners and finalists of the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2023, an annual competition that celebrates the Scottish landscape in all its valley-filled glory.

This year the competition has seen over 4,000 images submitted by Scottish photographers and talent from further afield – everywhere from Australia to the Netherlands. A snow-covered street in Edinburgh, a thundering waterfall on the Isle of Skye and a stunning white-sand beach in the Outer Hebrides are among the stunning landscapes captured by the photographers whose work was honored in the competition .

Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year, however, goes to Brian Pollock - based in the town of Bearsden near Glasgow - for his portfolio of three "stunning" images taken in the Scottish Highlands.

Commenting on his victory, Pollock said: "The Scottish outdoors and landscape, in particular, kept an important place in my life for as long as I can remember and it is a privilege to be able to share this passion through my photography.'
