The president of the group, Yemi Ezekiel Bello, however, explained that he was sounding the alarm to make the public understand what had happened after the demonstration.

Bello claimed the group was protesting the alleged habit of turning civil cases into criminal cases by Oyo police.

He said: "Most of the time civil cases are converted into criminal cases and money is extorted from innocent plaintiffs/victims before being handed over to the defendants/accused and then maliciously prosecuted by the police. We therefore believe that the public should be informed of the events after our demonstration and also note the following.

"That the officers of the Owode Region Command support their indicted officer and cannot bring justice to our client, Mr. Babatunde Adetunji, who was maliciously prosecuted on his own land;

"They are not only after Mr. Olawale Adebowale but also everyone in our organization including me.

"There is a conspiracy against us by certain people and/or institutions who believe that our organization is depriving them of the benefits they derive from the perpetration/perpetuation of injustice in Ogbomoso land.

"Any purported invitation or investigation by them or their relatives is contrary to our rights to a fair trial due to the prior indictment and is also a means to retaliate. Nemo Judex Incausa Sua.

"However, we recommend that the area commander stand up for justice and withdraw malicious charges against innocent people and punish any officer found guilty of committing an injustice in the interest of a fair trial and justice".< /p>
