Group calls on Governor Wike and other aggrieved party members to embrace peace

A political group dubbed 'Plateau for Atiku' has made an impassioned plea to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his supporters to get closer to People's Democratic Party, PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for the general interest of the party.

The group, in a statement signed by its protem secretary, Professor Shedrach Best, said the time had come for all aggrieved stakeholders within the party to close ranks and put the past behind them. approaching the 2023 presidential election.

According to the statement, the group after its meeting in Jos, reaffirmed its support for the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Dr. Ifenyi Okowa.

"Our support for Atiku Abubakar is unconditional and we are working to deliver Plateau to Atiku by 2023. Plateau has always been the home of PDP and we are confident that victory will come in 2023."

The Plateau for Atiku movement has therefore called on Nigerians to support the presidential aspiration of Atiku Abubakar, adding that the presidential candidate has the experience required to shake up the affairs of the country at this particular time than any other candidate.

He, however, pointed out that Plateau State remains one of the strongholds of the People's Democratic Party in Nigeria and, therefore, expressed his optimism that the people of Plateau will vote overwhelmingly for the party in 2023.

"We want all aggrieved members to close ranks and focus more at this particular time to approach the 2023 presidential election with unity and unity," the group said.
