Hannah Waddingham: Actress quits BBC Proms at last minute due to strike

Actress Hannah Waddingham dropped out of a performance at the BBC Proms hours before the start of the event to show solidarity with the current strike by American actors.
< p class="ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10">The Ted Lasso star was due to host the BBC Fantasy, Myths And Legends Prom at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday .
But that afternoon Waddingham said she could "very unfortunately" not continue.
"It will be a magical night, but thanks to my continued work in support of the Sag-Aftra strike, I must respectfully step aside," she added in a statement posted online.
"Can't wait to be back at the Royal Albert Hall PDQ [pretty fast]!"
The actress was only announced as a host on Friday. She was replaced by BBC Radio 3 presenter Katie Derham and Radio 1 film critic Ali Plumb.
