Rumor has it that Henry Cavill may be at Comic-Con this weekend on behalf of Warner Bros. - but his time has come and gone... and there was no red cape in the sky.

A report from Deadline has suggested there are rumors that Cavill may actually appear at the event this weekend to talk more about 'Superman' at the WB/DC panel, which just ended ...and no sign of HC anywhere (unlike 2012, where it was front and center).

So yeah... the rumor and/or report was BS - which is a shame, as fans were excited about the possibility of Henry being announced for more movies in the lead role.

It's not in the stars, it seems. This would have been a perfect opportunity to signal some kind of plan for what Warner - now merged with Discovery - is going to do with their larger IP... but it seems they still don't know where the Aller brand is. That, or they're sure to be done with Cavill. Of course, some have already seen it coming.

Instead of 'Superman' news... WB released new trailers for 'Shazam! 2' and 'Black Adam' -- with The Rock actually alluding to the Man of Steel in a hypothetical match-up.

Dwayne kept things close to the vest - and at the same time... made a big tease about the potential fight between his character and Clark Kent. He says he'll hold off on answering that for now...because it depends on who's playing old Supes. AKA, Henry is uncast...yet.
