Homeworld 3 is coming in the first half of 2023

Homeworld 3 debuted a new trailer during Gamescom 2022's Opening Night Live event, with news that the title will arrive in the first half of 2023.

Homeworld sci-fi games feature large sci-fi spaceships in massive real-time fleet battles. The trailer scene takes place in the middle of a bush in Kesura Oasis, outside of the Anomaly space.

Ships can hide behind cover, and others can escape through a tunnel through massive structures in space. Bombers can attack large capital ships. The real-time strategy comes from Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive.

The trailer was the latest in the highly anticipated new chapter of the award-winning sci-fi strategy series. Homeworld 3 brings the series' innovative 3D strategy gameplay into the modern era through groundbreaking graphics and technology, reimagining the scale of deep space combat while adding new layers of strategy to every moment.

Coming in the first half of 2023 on PC and published by Gearbox Publishing, fans can list Homeworld 3 on Steam and the Epic Games Store and pre-order the physical Collector's Edition.

Blackbird Interactive, the developer of the title, has been working on the cinematic space combat series for 20 years.

Homeworld 3 takes advantage of the latest technology to add a new element to the series' familiar 3D RTS gameplay, including cover-based tactics, massive strategic terrain, and a huge improvement to the overall UI design and user experience.

Players must devise new strategies and use new environmental obstacles such as colossal ancient megaliths, dangerous asteroid fields, and huge abandoned shipwrecks as cover or to hide enemy movements. The game also offers new strategic challenges with its physics-based ballistic simulation that makes space combat more real than ever.
