I tried a PopSocket for the first time and once I threw it I couldn't stop

I don't like sticking permanent objects to the back of my Android phone. Dealing with a thicker phone, an obstacle that creates friction every time I want to put it in my pocket or take it out, and an uneven and wobbly device every time I put it on a flat surface doesn't just not worth the sacrifice to me. Or at least that's what I thought until I tested some PopSockets.

On paper, those little round pucks are all I hate attaching to my phone. But there is a MagSafe version that promises to offer the same ergonomics while being easily removable. A win-win solution, right? To my surprise, I got more used to the classic, sticky PopSocket than the MagSafe one. Maybe it was the very fact that I couldn't take it off that convinced me, or maybe I was too busy traveling through Czechia for 10 days of adventures not to go there. didn't think about it. Suffice it to say, I get why PopSockets are so popular now. And I may be a convert – or at least on the verge of becoming one.

About this article: I tested the PopSocket PopGrip and PopGrip for MagSafe for three weeks. The units were purchased by Android Authority for the purposes of this article.
