Cillian Murphy says he's had a hard time being in the spotlight, but he'll try to enjoy the Oscars next month where he's nominated for best actor.
The Irish-born star was nominated for Christopher Nolan's blockbuster Oppenheimer and is set to take on Maestro's Bradley Cooper for the award.
"You'd be a fool not to take advantage of it," he told BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs.
Host Lauren Laverne asked him how he would handle stepping out of his comfort zone at the Oscars.
"I've struggled with it in the past and you know, it's not something that I'm ever totally comfortable with - but I think you have to choose to enjoy it and I think that you can only do it in your brain, just make that change and then it's easier," the 47-year-old said.
Murphy - also known for the horror film 28 Days Later, the thriller Red Eye and the role of Tommy Shelby in the hit BBC crime series Peaky Blinders - often doesn't talk about his private life.
