INEC begins recruiting electoral staff and opens a portal

The Independent National Electoral Commission announced on Wednesday the start of the recruitment of electoral staff for the 2023 general elections.

To this effect, the election arbitrator said he had opened his recruitment portal, adding that eligible candidates should start applying for the position.

INEC made the announcement in a post on its Facebook page on Wednesday. He said the portal that opened on Wednesday (today) will be closed on November 30, 2022.

The statement read: "The Commission has approved the reactivation of INECPRES for both the mobile application for Android phones only and the web portal (laptops only).

"To this end, the portal will be open to candidates eligible for registration of all categories of ad hoc personnel (SPO/PO/APO/RATECHS/RAC managers) with the exception of Collation agents.

"The portal opens on Wednesday, September 14 and closes on November 30, 2022."

The PUNCH reports that campaigning for the 2023 election will kick off later this month, signaling the start of activities leading up to next year's general election.
