Jet Black: 'Inspirational' Stranglers drummer dies aged 84

Jet Black, the original drummer of 1970s punk rockers The Stra nglers, a di ed aged 84, confirmed the band.

The musician, born Brian Duffy, was a founding member of the band Guildford, playing on the hits Golden Brown, Peaches and No More Heroes.

He last played with them in 2015, announcing his retirement a few years later due to problems health.

In an online statement, his former bandmates described him as a "former statesman" of British music.
