Angry locals were seen shouting "Bamayi" (we don't want you) as the duo waved at the crowd through the sunroof of a moving vehicle.

However, the Governor was also greeted by many people at the event as he made his way through the crowds to the Emir's Palace where the event took place.

While it was unclear why the Governor was booed, many believed it was due to the Governor's nonchalance towards the victims of the widespread flooding in the state.
