Jodi Benson's 'Little Mermaid' Laughs at Halle Bailey's First Look as Ariel

Halle Bailey has finally shown the world what she looks like as Ariel in 'The Little Mermaid' reboot, but as usual - Twitter found a way to ruin it all...by tearing down Jodi Benson .

Here's the deal... Disney released the new 'Little Mermaid' trailer on Friday, and while nearly everyone was wowed by the first look at Halle under the sea - some couldn't get enough of it. prevent making comparisons to the original voice actor who played Ariel in 89...that would be JB.

Some were taking snippets from the animated film, including iconic singing parts, and putting them side by side with Halle - continuing to mock Jodi's performance, saying she looked " a bit flat".

There was more teasing...including people posting photos of Halle's Ariel next to the animated Ariel and noting that HB has a ton of Grammys, while the cartoon Ariel (aka Jodi) had none. FWIW, "The Little Mermaid" actually won a handful of Grammys at the time.

Ultimately, though... they tarnish the iconic work Jodi did all those years ago.

There was also someone trying to create drama between these two...which seems to be completely fabricated. They posted a screenshot of what appears to be a post on Jodi's IG story, showing an animated photo of Ariel with the caption "I love my Ariel".

The Twitter user who entered this is trying to make it look like Jodi posted this in response to the trailer release - and as a shot at Halle, but that's not the case. .. it's an old post.
