JoJo Siwa makes it clear that she's not looking to reconcile with Candace Cameron Bure. "We haven't [spoken], and I don't think we ever will again," Siwa said in an interview with People at Disney+'s "Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium" event on the 20th. november. Siwa's comments were in reference to Bure's plans to create a collection of new LGBTQ+-free films for the Great American Family network, which Siwa previously criticized in a Nov. 15 Instagram post.

"I honestly can't believe after everything that happened just a few months ago that she would not only create a movie with the intention of excluding LGBTQIA+ people, but would also speak in the press," Siwa wrote in the original Instagram post. "It's rude and hurtful to an entire community of people."

Siwa elaborated on her feelings about Bure's comments in the November 20 interview. "That's what's screwed up," she said. "You don't like gay marriage, do your girl thing. You're a nun, do your girl thing. Of course, I would like everyone to do what they want to do. But deliberately excluding someone because of who he loves is shit tty." Siwa added that she thinks Bure should accept GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis's offer to speak to her. "That's what I would like Candace to do," Siwa said. "I would like her to have a conversation with GLAAD because even though I am educated, GLAAD is such an amazing organization. Sarah is a genius when it comes to the gay community. And I think Candace would have a conversation with her would not only be revelatory for Candace but revelatory for a whole world of people who might hold the same beliefs."

Actress and executive Bure left Hallmark Channel for Great American Family this year, according to Variety, citing her desire to create "trustworthy" and "wholesome" content. In a Nov. 14 interview with The Wall Street Journal, Bure made it clear that she plans to "put Christianity back in Christmas movies."
