Joshua ranked No. 6 ahead of Fury super-fight

Two-time world champion Anthony Joshua has entered the WBC heavyweight rankings ahead of a potential all-British showdown with champion Tyson Fury.

The Briton-Nigerian was slotted in at No. 6 after back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, who retained the WBA, IBF and WBO belts by split decision in last month's rematch in Arabia saudi.

Fury, who knocked out Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April, had been open to an undisputed clash against Usyk, only to learn the Ukrainian wouldn't be ready to box again until 2023.< /p>

He has since taken to social media to call out Joshua and offered the 32-year-old a 60-40 purse for a fight that was due to take place in August 2021 before a judge ruled. arbitration does not decide. that Deontay Wilder got a third fight with Fury.

Joshua's team confirmed on Tuesday that they had agreed to terms set out by Fury's team ahead of a potential all-British super-fight on December 3.

The statement read: "258 and @MatchroomBoxing can confirm, on behalf of @anthonyjoshua, that we have accepted all of the terms presented to us by the Fury team for a fight on December 3. last Friday.

"Due to the death of the Queen, it has been agreed to cease all communication.

"We are waiting for a response."

Joshua's entry into the top 15 as a former world champion meets WBC criteria for a Fury champion to defend his titles in a voluntary or mandatory defense.

There are currently no mandatory challengers in place to face Fury, with Wilder No. 1 in the standings ahead of his eliminator against Robert Helenius in October and Andy Ruiz No. 2 after his recent victory over Luis Ortiz in their eliminator.
