Kane told to force Levy into transfer decision with Man Utd 'the place to be' for £100m Tottenham star

Harry Kane has been told he will have to force Daniel Levy to make a decision on his future this summer amid reports linking him with Man Utd.

The striker is on track to enjoy one of his best seasons as a Tottenham player. He has scored 17 goals in 22 Premier League appearances this season.

Spurs will be desperate to hold him on until he retires, but his future is uncertain with his contract set to expire at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Kane is understandably linked with a move to Man Utd as they are on the hunt for a new striker. It has been suggested the striker could cost as much as £100m this summer.

The Englishman was targeted by Man City in 2021 but Tottenham's reported asking price of £150m made a move impossible.

Ex-Spurs Jamie O'Hara thinks Kane will have to 'move on if he wants a Premier League title'.

"The player and the person Harry Kane is with the mentality he has, he wants trophies. He can't finish his career as the Premier League's all-time top scorer with just an Audi Cup. It's not going to be acceptable for him. I think he'll have to look to move on if he wants a Premier League title. Manchester United, right now, could be the place to be." O'Hara told Grosvenor Sport.

"Man Utd will look at their situation at Spurs and think they need to sell; he's a £100m player even with a year left on his contract so I think they'll have to put up with him for the bring in.

"If he goes there this summer because he wants to win a trophy or wants a change, good for him, we can't blame him. He will forever be a legend at Spurs, and if he wants to get out of it, well, it's his career.

"He will chase the Premier League's all-time top scorer record, so he'll stay in England. He only needs 60 goals, which is crazy to think; he's still only 29 .

"He's going to break the record, one hundred percent. Alan Shearer is going to get knocked down. They never thought it would be possible; Kane is going to do it, but with a red shirt."

O'Hara later said that Kane might have to give Levy an ultimatum to force a decision this summer.

"If he turns to Daniel Levy and says I'm not signing a new contract, either you get the money for me now or I leave at the end of the season, it's up to you. decide, he's going to get his move and have the pick of the peloton,” O'Hara added.

"He deserves to go to a bigger club, in my opinion. He's been at Spurs for a long time, and it's not his fault that they've signed lousy players around him; it's the he team's golden egg, it's not his fault that the players they recruited weren't good enough to win him trophies, so he has the right to stop there ."
