Kiko Kostadinov RTW Fall 2023

There's always an animated superhero quality to women Kiko Kostadinov, or as creative duo of sisters Laure and Deanna Fanning said, "we like to celebrate women in a powerful and ethereal way."

There were a bunch of dresses with layers of tulle at the bottom in pink, lavender and aqua- navy in the fall 2023 collection.

By pairing them with shiny boots, spiral-shaped costume jewelry and futuristic decorations on the face panel, it was a childhood fantasy come true for those who dreamed of doing the world justice while looking stunning like Sailor Moon.

The duo said the starting point for the collection was vintage underwear.

“They had really amazing structures and shapes. This led us to see how to bring these details and fabrics from the interior of the antique silhouettes to the exterior,” the duo explained.

This idea was then mixed with the brand's favorite Y2K Shinjuku street styles, and their obsession to find ugly beauty in the clash of different elements.

The results were fun, albeit all over the place. There was a bit of sexy as well as beautiful knitted dresses. The outerwear options were more in line with the brand's masculine aesthetic.

But maybe that's what they were aiming for: to have a bit of everything for their die-hard fans.
