Kwara and Benue paid the most for cooking gas in December 2022

Residents of Kwara and Benue states paid the highest costs for cooking gas (liquefied petroleum gas) in December 2022, a recent report by the National Bureau of Statistics revealed.

The report states that residents of Kwara state paid an average of N4,950 for a 5kg refill, adding that for refilling a 12.5kg bottle, residents of Benue paid on average N11,000.

The report also reveals that the average retail price for filling a 5kg LPG cylinder increased by 0.36% on a monthly basis from N4,549.14 in November 2022 to N4,565 .56 N in December 2022. He added that on a yearly basis the price increased by 27% from N3,594.81 in December 2021.

For filling a 12.5kg bottle, the average cost increased by 0.67% on a monthly basis from N10,180.88 in November 2022 to N10,248.97 in December 2022 , while year-on-year the price increased by 39.78% from 7,332.04 Naira in December 2021.
