Never-before-seen photos of late actor Heath Ledger will be released as NFTs

Intimate photographs of the late actor Heath Ledger will now be auctioned off as limited edition non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in support of the Heath Ledger Foundation.

The "Brokeback Mountain" actor died in 2008 at the age of 28. The actor received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of The Joker in "The Dark Knight."

The images were taken by photographer Ben Watts, the brother of actress Naomi Watts, who dated Ledger.

NFTs are available for auction on September 14 at noon ET. The winning bidder of each NFT will receive a signed art print by Ben Watts or an exclusive print magazine featuring never-before-seen Heath Ledger imagery.

Photos from the NFT gallery show Ledger skateboarding and doing handstands in a session captioned: "Heath at LA River for Interview Magazine. He loved to skate and surf , so the session became a fun day rather than a shoot."

Another photo from the gallery is titled 'No permit', and the caption reads: 'Spontaneous moments in LA River. Heath and Ben didn't have a permit for been there and simply "found" a way in."

The Heath Ledger Fellowship is awarded to emerging actors and actresses who demonstrate extraordinary ability and dedication to their craft.

According to the report, the past recipients who received the scholarship are Bella Heathcote and Cody Fern. Additionally, past judges included Chris Hemsworth, Naomi Watts, Matt Damon, Jacki Weaver, and Gary Oldman.
