Lewis Capaldi has announced that he is taking an indefinite hiatus from touring to work on his physical and mental health. He made the emotional statement via an Instagram post on June 27, after giving himself a 3-week break before his performance at Glastonbury. The 26-year-old, who performed on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday, struggled with his Tourette's midfield, as the crowd stepped in to chant his lyrics in a show of love and support. As a result, he made the difficult decision to take time off.

"First of all, thank you to Glastonbury for inviting me, for singing when I needed it and for all the amazing messages that followed. It really means the world," he wrote in the post, before announcing that he would be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future. "Playing for you every night is all I ever dreamed of, so this was the hardest decision of my life. I will be back as soon as possible."

Capaldi recently got candid about his own mental health, via his candid Netflix documentary, 'How I Feel Now.' He spoke about his recent Tourette diagnosis, which includes involuntary tics, as well as his experiences with panic attacks and the overwhelming pressure he felt to produce his second album, "Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent. ". Although his return to the spotlight has been hailed, it's clear he's taken a toll on the star.

"I know I'm incredibly lucky to be able to take time off when others can't and I would like to thank my family, friends, team, healthcare professionals and all of you who have been so supported at every step of the way through the good times and even more in this last year when I needed it more than ever," he continues.
