Liam Payne cancels tour dates after kidney infection

Singer Liam Payne has canceled his upcoming tour after suffering a serious kidney infection.

The One Direction star has pulled out of concerts in South America. after being taken to hospital.

The 29-year-old said he was following doctor's orders and planned to "rest and recover" following his fear.

He apologized to fans who had purchased tickets and said he hoped to reschedule the live dates.

In a statement posted to Instagram on Friday, Payne said, "It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you that we have no no choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America.

"Over the past week, I have been hospitalized with a severe kidney infection, c t is something I wouldn't wish on anyone, and doctor's orders are that I must now rest and recuperate."

He continued, "J was beyond excited to come play for you guys. To all of you who purchased tickets: I'm so sorry."
