Chris Bridges, better known as Ludacris, wears many hats: rapper, actor, producer, author, and television creator via his Netflix animated series, "Karma's World." But one of his proudest accomplishments is being a father to a daughter. While hip-hop has "opened the floodgates" for the multi-hyphenate's longtime career, the father of four credits his daughters - Karma, Cai, Cadence and Chance - as inspirations for his latest venture. /p>

"It happened because of what you just said: people wanting to see each other."

In honor of the third season of "Karma's World," which premiered on July 7, Bridges has teamed up with Mattel to release a one-of-a-kind toy collection. The extensive line, launching July 17, includes dolls, doll accessories, styling heads and role plays inspired by fan-favorite characters from the series. Although her Netflix series, named after and inspired by her daughter Karma, is barely a year old, Bridges tells POPSUGAR that her new Mattel collection has been in the works for a long time. "It's because of what you just said - people wanting to see themselves, not just on screen, but also to see themselves portrayed in dolls," he explains. "Because there's no oversaturation of what's going on. So what better way to galvanize the fans than to do it that way?"

By raising young black girls around an industry that is actively fighting for more representation, Bridges understands that she wants to feel more seen. And because of his big platform, he feels it's his duty to continue to fill that void with "Karma's World." "I'm a daddy girl, [so] I just want to be the change that I want to see for the world, obviously, for my family and my daughters too." Of her new toy collection - featuring an assortment of dolls designed with a range of natural hair textures - Bridges says "there's nothing as advanced as what we have, [and] I can tell humbly, but very proudly."< /p>

"[I want it to be] empowering for children and parents."

Similar to the creation of "Karma's World", Bridges relied on her daughters to be "extremely honest" when it came to the development of her Mattel collection. Working with them hand in hand, using real life experiences and listening to their feedback helped him ensure that authenticity was always a priority. "[I want it to be] empowering for kids and parents, inspiring kids and parents, hoping they dream bigger, knowing they can positively change the world. One person and one seed planted at once, putting [out] more positivity, being able to have morals and themes, talking about their issues and problems...
