LONDON – Marta Ortega Perez, the new president of Inditex, shines the spotlight on another giant of fashion photography: Steven Meisel.

"Steven Meisel 1993 A Year in Photographs" will open in La Coruna, Galicia, Spain in November.

The exhibition is organized with the personal support of Ortega Perez and is part of a long-term initiative to bring "world-class culture to La Coruña" and to promote "the rich cultural spirit of Galicia in the world".

This comes almost a year after Ortega Perez curated 'Untold Stories', an exhibition of Peter Lindbergh's work, in Inditex's hometown. This show ran from December 4, 2021 to March 31 and attracted over 110,000 viewers.

Meisel will present images made during “a phenomenal 12-month burst of creativity” in La Coruña on November 19, according to organizers.

The exhibition will feature over 100 portraits from the worlds of fashion and film, including Linda Evangelista, Carla Bruni, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Jaye Davidson, Barbara Streisand, Marlon Richards, Isabella Blow, Amanda Harlech and Twiggy. < /p>

Meisel is one of the most prolific fashion photographers of his generation, and has spent a career working with Vogue and Vogue Italia in particular.

He photographed Madonna for her 1992 book, "Sex", and photographed campaigns for brands such as Prada, Versace, Valentino, Calvin Klein and Zara. He also helped revive the careers of models like Evangelista, Campbell, Tennant, Amber Valletta, Kristen McMenamy and Christy Turlington.

The lounge and space were part of a larger initiative to promote A Coruña, a bustling port city that is also home to Estrella Galicia beer, as a cultural hub.
