Martin Short attacked in editorial, fans support him

Martin Short's fans are coming to his defense on social media after he was called a 'hopelessly unfunny' comedian in a recent op-ed.

All the drama started on Friday when Dan Kois published an opinion piece for Slate, questioning Short's comedic skills to the point that many might interpret as rude.

Kois wrote, "He (Short) would do anything, anything, for a laugh"... "I find the entire Martin Short script exhausting, sweaty and hopelessly not funny."

Continuing his elimination, Kois said..."Every time he dresses up in a silly outfit or says something outrageous or mugs the audience, I want to scream at the screen: 'Why are you like that?'"

Kois also attacked Short's hugely popular TV show, "Only Murders In The Building," starring Selena Gomez and Steve Martin. Even though the show received Emmy nominations, Kois still thinks Short's character isn't funny.

And the criticisms multiplied again and again.

But many people disagreed with Kois and took to social media to show their support for Short, while posting clips of his best moments.
