Mass Shooter kills 6 people at Virginia Walmart, dies by suicide

Another mass shooting killed at least 7 people, including the shooter, this time at a Walmart in Virginia.

The shooter was an employee, possibly a manager, who walked into a break room at the department store in Chesapeake, Va., on Tuesday night, a law enforcement source told ABC News. He reportedly opened fire on other people before turning the gun on himself.

When the smoke cleared, 6 victims had been shot by the assailant with a gun, police said. At least 4 other people are currently being treated for injuries in local hospitals. Their conditions are not known.

Chesapeake Police Chief Mark G. Solesky gave a briefing Wednesday morning ... he said officers discovered the carnage around 10:12 p.m. after responding to a call for an active threat situation. The scene was deemed safe about an hour later.

CORRUGATED

Solesky confirmed that the shooter used a handgun to kill himself. Detectives executed search warrants at the man's home.

Investigators have not identified either the victims or the shooter, whose motive is unclear.

United States Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) tweeted about the bloodshed..."Sickened by reports of another mass shooting, this time at a Walmart in Chesapeake . I will closely monitor the development of the situation."
