Massive avalanche captured by camera, nearly sweeps photographer away
You've heard the age-old advice not to chase waterfalls, but avalanches may need to be added to the mix or, at the very least, get out of their way if you can.< /p>
A Brit by the name of Harry Shimmin posted this wild footage taken Friday in Kyrgyzstan, where he says he was on a guided tour with 8 other people through the Tian Shan Mountains...at one point by which the group reached the highest possible point on the hike.

That's when an avalanche from a nearby peak started rolling in, falling on Harry - who had separated himself from the group a bit to take pictures by himself. As he looks at the snow, which seems to be quite far away, he quickly realizes that it is getting closer.
Soon the reality sets in... that he's about to be buried by this thing if he doesn't take cover. Acting like a daredevil, Shimmin waits until the very last second to do just that.

HS explains that he knew he would be fine all along, as he was right next to a ridge he could hide under when the snow fell on him, but admits that...it was a risky business.
