MC Oluomo will hold a rally for Tinubu on Sunday

Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee Chairman Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo has announced the proposed Solidarity Rally for the Presidential Candidate of Congress of All Progressives, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, scheduled to hold as it stands on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

The president previously postponed the planned rally citing logistical issues.

Akinsanya, in a statement he signed and posted via his Twitter account, announced that the proposed five million man march will take place in support of the governor's re-election bid. State, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.

The statement reads: "The Solidarity March of Tinubu-Shettima and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat's second term still stands on Sunday.

"This is to inform our esteemed members, supporters and lovers that our solidarity march for the actualization of the presidential ambition of Tinubu-Shettima and the second term of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat will continue as previously planned.

"We implore you all to disregard the previous postponement notice. Scheduled as follows: Date: Sunday, October 9, 2022. Take-off location: Teslim Balogun Stadium. End point: Bolade Oshodi. Time: 9 a.m. Sorry once again for any inconvenience. Thank you."

In another press release published on Friday, and seen by our correspondent, he explained the reason for the earlier postponement.

"This is going to be a mega rally, we will close Lagos for Asiwaju Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu.

"The reason we initially postponed the rally was because of logistics and situations that needed to be put into perspective and resolved.

“APC leaders and stakeholders have blessed the gathering and we are ready to roar. Maximum security guaranteed.

"We want to show our support, strength and abilities to APC candidates because they are the best for the position at hand.

"I hereby urge all 'BATists' (supporters of Tinubu) and Sanwo-Olu to come out in large numbers to tell the world that Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu are the best candidates for the presidency and gubernatorial slots for the state come from the 2023 general ballots,” the statement read.
