Michael B. Jordan prepares for a major game in Super Bowl 2023 'Creed III' teaser

“Creed III,” the third installment in the boxing movie franchise starring Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors, gave fans another close look at the highly anticipated trio ahead of its March premiere. A new teaser featuring the film's central boxing match between Adonis Creed and The Majors' Damian Anderson was released during the Super Bowl on February 12, and fans are sure to be counting the days until the film's March release.

On February 1, the franchise released a new poster showing Jordan back in action as Creed and facing off against his latest opponent: Damian, a childhood friend who came to collect on an old debt. Previously, the film franchise shared other 'Creed III' posters, including a look at Adonis' family (Tessa Thompson as Bianca Creed and newcomer Mila Davis-Kent as Amara Creed ), as well as individual looks at Adonis and Damian in the ring.

On October 18, 2022, MGM released the long-awaited first trailer for "Creed III," showing a time jump to the glamorous future of Jordan's Adonis years after successfully defending his title as heavyweight champion. However, this time he will face a new challenger from his past.

In the film's premiere, Majors' Damian reappears in Adonis' life 18 years after his imprisonment, and he seeks to train with the world-famous boxer. But along the way, jealousy and a personal grudge get between the two, leading to an epic showdown in the ring. Now the big question on everyone's mind: Will Adonis pull it off again, or will he taint his near-perfect record with yet another defeat?

"We wanted to make sure we were growing and always doubling down on the things that people expect and love from this franchise, but also taking them to new places."

We last saw Adonis in 'Creed II' after he defeated Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu) - son of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), the man responsible for the murder of Adonis' father, Apollo Creed, during his last game. Years after Apollo's death, Adonis continues to make a name for himself in the boxing world, especially now that he is the father. While 'Creed III' won't see Sylvester Stallone reprise his role as Rocky Balboa - whom he played in the Rocky franchise - Adonis' trainer in the first two Creed films, his absence will surely move the story forward. 'Adonis as he cements his boxing legacy on his own.

At a press conference for the launch of the 'Creed III' trailer, which POPSUGAR attended, Jordan - who is making his directorial debut with the franchise's third installment - explained why he had chosen the tale of Adonis for the first time behind the camera. "I think for me it was the perfect time," he said. "...To be able to tell a story about where I believe Adonis is, and also at 35, I had a lot to say as a young man - as a young black man. My experiences of life and how I could share a part of myself with the world, through these characters and through this story, so I felt like the timing was right."

Jordan also mentioned that he got some directing advice from Ryan Coogler, who directed the first Creed movie. "I was talking to Ryan back when we were doing 'Creed I' and he was like, 'It's never a good time. You just gotta jump in the deep end and go for it,'” he shared. "He encouraged me a lot."

Jordan also shared what viewers can expect from 'Creed III' once it hits theaters next month, including who's behind the film's soundtrack: J. Cole's Dreamville label. "You're going to hear a lot of new sounds [and] artists that people know," he said. "...We have a Dreamville executive producing the soundtrack with J. Cole. It's another big piece of this [movie], in the storytelling throughout the soundtrack...We wanted to make sure that we've grown and that we've always doubled down on the things that people expect and love from this franchise, but also take them to new places."

A day before the launch of the trailer for "Creed III", the film revealed posters of Jordan and Majors dressed in their boxing gear ready for a face-off. The former shared his "Creed III" poster on his social media pages with the text "You can't run...". above. The Majors poster ends the sentence with ". . . Fr...
