Mindy Kaling Says She'd 'Definitely' Consider an 'I've Never Done It' Spin-Off
The third season of Netflix's "Never Have I Ever" may not have aired until August 12, but we're already thinking about the future of the series. The Maitreyi Ramakrishnan-directed teen comedy-drama will conclude with a fourth and final season in 2023 as Devi enters her senior year of high school. Although we don't yet know many plot details, Mindy Kaling clearly explains why she decided to end her creation after four seasons.

"I'm old school, so I'm from 'The Office', where that show ran for nine seasons, and '[The] Mindy Project' ran for six seasons, but those were shows that weren't not 't about high school," she tells POPSUGAR while discussing her LinkedIn partnership. "At first I was like, 'Oh, I could do this show forever,' but then you see these kids and it's scary how old they look at the end of the season. Then you wait a year to shoot again, and you're like, 'Oh, that's why high school shows end in four seasons.' When [showrunner Lang Fisher] suggested, "How about we try to do all of their storylines in four years?" It really ended up making sense."
