Moda Operandi Club Moda Releases 75 Party-Ready Pieces for the Holidays

Moda Operandi is ready for the holiday season with Club Moda, launching Thursday.

The team has worked over the past nine months closely with a wide range of international designers for the one-of-a-kind multi-brand Club Moda capsule. The range includes 75 holiday-exclusive pieces from 30 ready-to-wear and accessories brands, including LaQuan Smith, Khaite, Jonathan Simkhai, Gianvito Rossi and Jimmy Choo, plus emerging talents like 16Arlington , Diotima, Des Phemmes, Del Core, Monot, K.ngsley and Arielle Baron.

The capsule combines the energy of the Y2K club with the iconic attitude of Studio 54, all interpreted through each designer's DNA and Moda's distinct point of view. There are skin-baring mini dresses, costume options, sleek and sophisticated offerings, jumpsuits and full maxi dresses. In shoes and accessories, there are glittering evening platforms, thigh-high boots with Lucite heels, studded rings, ombre metallic mesh clutches with rhinestone crystal embellishments, and mini satin shoulder bags.

Prices range from $350 to $3,600 with fine jewelry up to $5,500.

To develop the capsule, Moda Operandi's head of merchandising April Hennig said the team had worked with the brands to create mood boards and then present Moda with sketches and fabrics. The looks are based on what each brand does really well, with the Moda twist on it. The brands created between one and 10 looks for the project, and each will do their own making.

“We tapped into a selection of young, dynamic, independent and emerging talent, both of the moment and brands which are naturally go-to resources for this kind of end use, but also have their own distinct and exciting point of view. They are mostly independent brands from all over the world,” Hennig said, and they are represented in places such as Milan, Italy; Istanbul, Turkey; New York; Los Angeles; California; London, England; and Ukraine. “We have definitely prioritized diversity and in terms of black owned brands we have LaQuan Smith, K.ngsley, Monot, Diotima and Aliette.”

Among the offer is a LaQuan Smith sequin mini dress for $1,595; Jonathan Simkhai crepe blazer for $695 and bootcut pants for $495; a Diotima Clear Crystal Mesh Midi Dress for $1,695; a Des Phemmes embroidered strapless cotton-blend mini dress for $1,145; a 16Arllngton Azaleah feather top for $1,700 and an Aya Muse chain link mini dress for $2,150.

Other looks include a Monot corseted crepe jumpsuit for $1,795, strappy pumps in Gianvito Rossi embellished suede for $1,345, and Johanna Ortiz metallic leather boots for $950.
