Most actors have the fame, not the money — Ayo Adesanya

Popular actress, Ayo Adesanya, said that many actors in the country only have fame and not fortune.

Speaking during an interview on the 'Memoir of a Naija Girl' podcast, the actress said, "A lot of people think that because Nollywood is big, practitioners get paid well. But how much do we earn?We are famous, but we don't earn money.However, it is up to the actor to use this notoriety to earn money, through brand promotion and other means."

Adesanya also noted that being a celebrity can be lonely. She said: "It's very lonely being a celebrity, contrary to what people think. People think that as a celebrity you have the whole world at your feet. It's actually very lonely "People assume that the life of a celebrity is all rosy and busy. However, it all comes down to the individual and how they want to live their life, so that it doesn't become lonely and boring."< /p>

Reacting to her belief that rich actresses make money by sleeping with rich people, she said, "Where were you there when money was traded for sex? Before to accuse people, you must have evidence (to back up your claims).There are honest and hardworking people in Nollywood.Of course, there may be people in the industry who are just in it for the fame , not because they like to play."

Adesanya also maintained that the health of veteran actors is now better managed. She said: “Getting sick and dying doesn't just happen in Nollywood. It happens everywhere, even in developed countries where they have the best healthcare system. However, that of Nollywood seems pronounced because people are popular. In the movie industry, when you get to a certain age, people hardly remember to call it to work. At some point, when you're not so nimble anymore, people tend to overlook one. In the meantime, if you don't work, you can't do anything by yourself. They won't even be able to pay their medical bills if they get sick. »
