One motorcyclist killed and one injured in car accident in Osun

A man, whose identity could not immediately be established, lost his life on Saturday when his motorbike hit a car on the Osogbo/Ilobu road, while the passenger he was carrying was also injured .

The accident which occurred around the service area, Osogbo, Osun State, caused tension as locals rushed to the scene, deflated the tires of the vehicle involved and apprehended the driver.

While the injured passenger was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, the body of the deceased motorcyclist was still at the scene when our correspondent left the scene.

Speaking about the accident, a local, simply identified as Florence, said the motorcyclist carrying a passenger was coming from Ilobu at the end of the road, while the vehicle involved was heading towards Ilobu from Osogbo.

"We just heard a loud noise and rushed to the scene. The motorcycle slammed into the vehicle and the rider died instantly. The man sitting behind him was rushed to the scene. hospital. Later, police officers came and left with the driver of the car and the vehicle involved,” Florence said.

When contacted, Osun Police Command public relations officer Yemisi Opalola said a life was lost in the crash.

Opalola further explained that the accident involving a Toyota Camry occurred when a motorcyclist who wanted to pass another motorcycle, lost control and in the process hit an oncoming vehicle.< /p>

“The motorcyclist died instantly while his passenger was injured. The corpse and motorcycle were taken away by the family of the deceased, while the vehicle involved was taken to the state traffic office to be taken to safety,” Opalola concluded.
