MTN to pay shareholders an interim dividend of N114 billion
Telecommunications company MTN Nigeria will reward its shareholders with an interim dividend of N113. 98 billion, or 5.60 kobo naira for every 2 ordinary shares of kobo, the company said in its report on Wednesday.
According to the operator's unaudited profits, it generated 471 billion naira in revenue between January and April 2022, which is an increase of more than a fifth from the amount achieved from January to March of the year 2022. last year.
While mobile subscribers fell slightly by 1.8%, active data users increased by 3.4 million to 35.9 million at the same time.
The company has announced a final dividend of N8.57 per share, or N174.4 billion, in 2021.
It announced an interim dividend of N4.55 in July 2021, raising its annual dividend per share to N13.12.
He said the proposed new dividend is subject to an appropriate withholding tax deduction and will be paid to shareholders whose names appear on the register of members before the close of business on August 18.

He advised shareholders who have not yet completed electronic dividend registration to download the completed Registrars Electronic Dividend Mandate Activation Form and submit it to the Registrar or their respective banks.
"Shareholders with unclaimed dividends are urged to complete the electronic dividend record or contact the Registrar," he said.
