Neville urges Glazers to sell Man Utd 'now' after being triggered by Real Madrid

Gary Neville has urged Manchester United owners Joel and Avram Glazer to 'sell immediately' in response to Real Madrid's release of images of the redevelopment work currently underway at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu stadium club. The former Red Devil has asked American businessmen 'to stop delaying the inevitable' weeks after his latest rant about the Glazers' perceived failure to run the football club.

On Monday, Real Madrid released a six-minute montage of the ongoing renovation works at the Santiago Bernabeu via the club's official Twitter account. The European champions, who unveiled plans to revamp the historic arena in 2019, offered a preview of the stadium's rebuild which will see the site upgraded to include a retractable roof, 360-degree video scoreboard and a Sleek exterior design that will project illuminated images onto its exterior.

The redesign will also see the stadium's capacity increased to 85,000 and the arena will become one of the most modern football venues in Europe. The works at the Bernabeu are expected to be completed by the start of the 2023-24 season.

Meanwhile, Old Trafford is currently in a completely different state. The Theater of Dreams was recently spotted getting a fresh coat of red paint as much-needed maintenance work on the arena continues to be neglected.

Former United defender Neville used Real Madrid's tweet to once again condemn the club's owners for their continued failure to follow suit and turn Old Trafford into a modern stadium worthy of many other elite arenas in Europe. Quoting Real Madrid's Twitter message, the Sky Sports pundit wrote: "To Joel and Avram. Stop delaying the inevitable and sell now."

The tweet was just Neville's latest message to the Glazers urging them to leave the club while also highlighting the state of disrepair Old Trafford currently finds itself in. Following United's recent 4-0 humiliation against Brentford, Neville blasted: "When a business fails and it's not performing, it's the owners of that business [who are to blame]. It's very simple. It fails miserably.

"They took around £24m out of the club two months ago and they now have a decrepit, rotting stadium, which is, to be fair, second rate when it used to be the best in the world 15- 20 years ago. You have a football club where they have no idea."

Comparing United's situation to that of Tottenham, Neville added: "The club is rotten. He [Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy] has built an incredible stadium that people want to come and play in; he has.. .
