Musk has asked his employees to spend more than 40 hours at company facilities each week or they would be fired. Now, according to new data, Musk's concern about working from home appears to be well founded.

A survey of 2,000 knowledge workers found that over 54% said they felt pressured to show their status online.

Data shows that knowledge workers waste 67 minutes online every day performing menial tasks for the express purpose of "proving to their managers and colleagues that they are available and they work".

According to another report, people with long-term COVID are 54% more likely to presenteeism or show up for work when they cannot fully function.

Talking about the work-from-home norm, David Solomon, CEO of Goldman Sachs Group Inc GS, says remote work is no match for the office when it comes to work learning, growth and upward mobility.
